The fee, currently set at €5 for general admission, is primarily aimed at managing the crowd and preserving this ancient wonder. Rest assured, this nominal fee is a small price to pay for maintaining and protecting one of Rome’s most iconic landmarks.
What Makes the Pantheon Special?
The Pantheon, originally a temple to all the gods, is an architectural masterpiece. Its famous dome, with the central oculus, is the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome – a marvel even by today’s standards. Honestly, the Pantheon is something that can easily be seen on your own, so I recommend arriving early in the morning to beat the crowds.
